This month, we'd like to share with you a sneak preview from the long–awaited release of The Magic Orange Tree and Other Haitian Folktales on CD (coming soon from Cloudstone and Roomful of Sky Records): the story of the incredible race of "Horse and Toad."
Diane Wolkstein traveled throughout the Haitian countryside in the 1970's in search of stories and songs, and recorded a rich collection of Haitian tales. With delightful musical accompaniment by Shirley Keller, Diane tells five of these stories so intimately and exuberantly we feel as if she is sitting directly in front of us. From orange trees growing at a child's command to toad bridegrooms, these stories suitable for all ages create a world of wonder and mystery and invite us into the unique culture and imagination of the Haitian people.
Please check back with us soon for full release information and to order your copy!

Psyche and Eros, considered by Carl Jung to be “the seminal myth of western civilization” is also a great love story. The beautiful princess Psyche has everything; unfortunately, she and her parents do not pay proper respect to Aphrodite, the Goddess of Love. Slighted, Aphrodite sets Psyche four impossible tasks. As she journeys toward love, Psyche also moves toward (psyche) becoming herself.
